Allotments

During the pandemic, access to green spaces in the cities took on special significance and I have been exploring the more hidden community gardens. I have taken great pleasure in painting on some allotments near my home. This is a quiet and beautiful spot where you can hear birdsong and I have been inspired to combine this oasis of urban peace with the grittiness of London life. I also hear the stories of those tending to their allotments and I hope my work captures their individualities as well as their similarities.
